Why this idea appears

What must be added to Hecke-algebra combinatorics to obtain generation on a variety?

1 · The algebraic input

Context HKP’s 2009 preprint, published in 2010, separates the reflection part of the extended affine Weyl group from its length-zero symmetries.

[HKP, §7.1, p. 19]$$\Wext=\Waff\rtimes\Om.$$

The obstacle left for a variety is to identify which functions those symmetries move to each other.

Derive the translation operator →

2 · The geometric comparison

Context Chen–Yi’s checked 2025 version compares the standard and IC bases for loop spaces of symmetric varieties.

[CY, §8.2.3 and Lemma 73, pp. 42–43]

Triangularity explains why either family is a basis; it does not determine whether a prescribed basic object generates the module.

Compute both bases in affine space →

3 · Orbit combinatorics as a module

Context Shtotland’s 2026 paper uses a weighted Iwahori hypergraph to reconstruct the Hecke module on a p-adic symmetric space.

[Sht, Definitions 8.1, 8.4; Theorem 8.5, pp. 31–32]

Length-zero permutations are part of the data; reflection operators and their coefficients supply the other part.
