Audit 9.6 · Audit of A6-5: $\mathrm{IC}{A\pm}\notin\mathcal C_I^{\mathrm{Iwa}}$
proved ★ key step
Holds given I1I1 · Finite levels: LX has a level presentation in which every object of C_I is pulled back from a finite level Y_{N,M} and each level has finitely many pieces (Iwahori-generation pages, Proposition III).. Each step checks out: the generators, the Bott–Samelson reduction, the closure of add{IC_{i,n}[m]} under the four convolution rules, the Serre-subcategory argument, and the level compatibility of the perverse t-structure. Only the decomposition theorem is used, so it holds over F̄_q and over C.
Audit 9.6.
Holds, under I1I1 · Finite levels: LX has a level presentation in which every object of C_I is pulled back from a finite level Y_{N,M} and each level has finitely many pieces (Iwahori-generation pages, Proposition III). (Objection 9.5), over \(\overline{\mathbb F}_q\) (\(p\) odd) and over \(\mathbb C\) (Betti): \(M_I=\{\mathrm{IC}_{i,n}:i\in\{0,1\},n\ge0\}\), \(\mathcal C_I^{\mathrm{Iwa}}=\mathrm{Thick}\{\mathrm{IC}_{i,n}\}=\mathrm{Thick}(\mathrm{For}\,\mathcal C_K\cup\mathrm{For}\,\mathcal C_{K'})\), and the simple objects outside \(\mathcal C_I^{\mathrm{Iwa}}\) are exactly \(k_{A_+}\), \(k_{A_-}\).
- Generators (checklist 2). \(\mathcal H_{c,I}=\mathrm{Thick}\{\mathrm{IC}_w\}\): cells have connected stabilizers \(I\cap wIw^{-1}\), and \(\Delta_w\in\mathrm{Thick}\{\mathrm{IC}_y:y\le w\}\) by induction. \(-\ast_I\mathrm{IC}_0\) is triangulated and preserves retracts, so \(\mathcal C_I^{\mathrm{Iwa}}=\mathrm{Thick}\{\mathrm{IC}_w\ast\mathrm{IC}_0:w\in\widetilde W\}\). Here \(\widetilde W=W_{\mathrm{aff}}\rtimes\langle\omega\rangle\), and the action is one-sided.
- Reduction to words. For a reduced \(w=s_{i_1}\cdots s_{i_r}\omega^j\), \(\mathrm{IC}_w\) is a summand of \(\mathrm{IC}_{s_{i_1}}\ast\cdots\ast\mathrm{IC}_{\omega^j}\) (Bott–Samelson resolution plus the decomposition theorem). By Audit 9.4, applied with all four cases (\(s_0\) or \(s_1\) on \(\mathrm{IC}_{0,n}\) or \(\mathrm{IC}_{1,n}\)) and \(\omega\), the object \(B=\mathrm{IC}_{s_{i_1}}\ast\cdots\ast\mathrm{IC}_{0,0}\) lies in \(\mathrm{add}\{\mathrm{IC}_{i,n}[m]\}\). Uniqueness of the summands needs no Krull–Schmidt argument: \(\mathrm{IC}_w\ast\mathrm{IC}_0\) is semisimple (pure), and the multiplicity of \(\mathrm{IC}_Q[-n]\) in a semisimple complex is read off from \({}^p\mathcal H^n\).
- Occurrence. The words \(s_0\), \(s_1s_0\), \(s_0s_1s_0,\dots\) give \(\mathrm{IC}_{1,1}\), \(\mathrm{IC}_{0,2}\oplus\mathrm{IC}_{0,0}\), …; \(\omega\) gives the other parity, and \(\mathrm{IC}_{0,0},\mathrm{IC}_{1,0}\) come from \(e,\omega\). So every \(\mathrm{IC}_{i,n}\) lies in \(M_I\).
- Exclusion. Objects whose perverse cohomologies have all Jordan–Hölder factors in the Serre subcategory generated by \(\{\mathrm{IC}_{i,n}\}\) form a thick subcategory: the long exact sequence argument is correct, and the hearts have finite length at each level. Smooth pullback shifted by the relative dimension, and closed pushforward, are t-exact and send ICs to ICs, so membership is independent of the level. \(k_{A_\pm}\) is simple with support \(A_\pm\ne Y_n,\omega Y_n\), so it is not in that subcategory.
- Completeness of the list. The orbits are \(A_\pm\), \(O_{0,n}\), \(O_{1,n}\) with closures \(A_\pm\), \(Y_n\), \(\omega Y_n\), and stabilizers are connected (Audit 9.1). So the simple objects are \(k_{A_\pm}\) and the \(\mathrm{IC}_{i,n}\), and \(\mathcal C_I=\mathrm{Thick}(\mathcal C_I^{\mathrm{Iwa}}\cup\{k_{A_+},k_{A_-}\})\) by dévissage over the finitely many orbits of each level.
- Fields (checklist 7). No weight argument is used beyond the decomposition theorem: BBD 5.4.5 and 5.3.8 over \(\overline{\mathbb F}_q\), BBD 6.2.5 over \(\mathbb C\). \(p\ne2\) enters only through the involution model of the levels \(Y_n\). Over \(\mathbb C\), I1I1 · Finite levels: LX has a level presentation in which every object of C_I is pulled back from a finite level Y_{N,M} and each level has finitely many pieces (Iwahori-generation pages, Proposition III). is an assumption (Objection 9.5). D-modules are not treated in Proposition 6.5; Riemann–Hilbert would transfer the result, since every level has finitely many orbits.
